With an anticipated 10,000 in attendance and 150+ vendors, the Americas Cake Fair will have something for everyone: a jam-packed schedule of live theater demonstrations and hands-on classes, a glamorous sugar arts fashion show, cake competitions, and an impressive lineup of celebrity chefs, master patissiers, and chocolatiers, dessert specialists, and industry-renowned bakers and decorators.
Classically trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, California, Chef Duff Goldman worked under such notable chefs as Jessie Llapitan, now Executive Chef of the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, and Chef Jason Rogers, of Olives in Aspen, and now at the Borgata of Atlantic City. Duff left Colorado to cook and bake bread for Todd English’s Olives back in Washington, D.C., and worked under Executive Chef Steve Mannino. His entrepreneurial spirit took him back to Baltimore in 2000, where he finally realized his dream and opened Charm City Cakes…Following several appearances on its cake competition Challenge series, in 2006, Food Network tapped Chef Duff and his fellow cake baking artists at Charm City Cakes to star in Ace of Cakes. After six years and ten seasons, the show was broadcast in over 40 countries worldwide.
Mich Turner MBE is the founder of Little Venice Cake Company and is often described as “Cake Maker to the Stars”, thanks to her award-winning designs and celebrity clientele including Her Majesty The Queen, Madonna, Ozzy Osbourne, Gordon Ramsay, and David Beckham. Among her many accolades, Mich was named Harper’s Bazaar & CHANEL Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006, and in 2009 her company was listed in the Walpole Luxury Brands of Tomorrow. In 2010, Mich received an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for her services to the catering industry. She is also recognized as a Satin Ice Artist of Excellence. An authority on cake making, baking, and decoration, Mich has worked as a consultant for many luxury and premium brands. She has her own range of cake decorating tools and bake-ware licensed under the Little Venice Cake Company brand and available across the UK, Europe, USA, and Australia. She is currently working on a line of accompanying edible products. In addition to hosting cake demonstrations, judging competitions internationally, and her frequent TV appearances as a judge on the successful Britain’s Best Bakery, Mich is a successful writer and author of five bestselling books.
As chef-owner of one of the country’s finest couture cake studios, Ron Ben-Israel and his creations have been featured in countless television shows, films, books and publications. He was named the Best Baker by Vogue and was also declared Martha Stewart’s favorite cake maker. His work appears at many of New York’s premiere hotels and is delivered to destinations across the world every day.
In 2011, Ron became host and judge of the Food Network’s hit show Sweet Genius, which after three seasons has been syndicated around the world. Ron is the only Guest Master Pastry Chef at the renowned International Culinary Center in NYC and throughout the year he travels across the U.S. and internationally to teach and lecture. A Satin Ice Artist of Excellence, Ron is a proud member of City Harvest’s Food Council and Advisory Board and a supporter of Lambda Legal Defense.
